Cancer Care

Wuesthoff patients are fighting back – and winning

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in Americans, surpassed only by heart disease. The good news for people across the country and in Brevard County is that death from cancer is on the decline. Increasing public awareness has resulted in more people getting regular cancer screenings and practicing healthy lifestyles.

Wuesthoff Health System offers some of the most advanced cancer treatments in the region, through inpatient and outpatient programs. Sophisticated technology, access to new treatments and medications, and a staff dedicated to caring for the cancer patient are just some of what makes Wuesthoff's cancer care so powerful.

Every patient requires a unique treatment plan. Your physician will discuss options that include radiation therapy, chemotherapy and/or surgery.

A valuable resource for cancer patients is the American Cancer Society's Resource Center, located at Wuesthoff Medical Center — Rockledge. The center provides cancer patients and families with guidance, resources, services and programs which include free wigs, prosthetic bras and prosthesis.

A cancer diagnosis is unsettling news, but Brevard County residents share a distinct advantage in the fight against cancer, thanks to the programs available right here at home. For more information, call 321-636-2211, ext. 1902.
