Sports Medicine Program

Helping athletes perform to their utmost ability

Exercise improves overall health, yet many athletes often place tough demands on their bodies. Helping athletes enjoy their fitness and keeping them in the game is the role of Wuesthoff Sports Medicine.

Wuesthoff aims for a higher standard of care for competitive athletes as well as "weekend warriors." Because prevention is the best medicine, the Wuesthoff Sports Medicine program emphasizes ways to help athletes avoid injuries in the first place.

Sports Medicine emerged as a discipline for treating athletes' injuries. Today, Sports Medicine is recognized as a medical science which expands the understanding of the body's response to all forms of physical activity.

Wuesthoff treats sports injuries through a collaborative effort, having a physical therapist/certified athletic trainer on staff along with the hospital services of the Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging and Physical Therapy.
