Born in the research triangle of North Carolina, Rita Jain, M.D. was surrounded by science and medicine and was intrigued with how it affected the body. Through her education and experience, Dr. Jain discovered she wanted to focus on endocrinology - the study of glands and hormones within the body and their related disorders.
"There are so many chronic diseases in the field of endocrinology that are very easily treated with the scientific advances we have today. For instance, the medical community has made great strides in treatment of diabetes and polycystic ovary syndrome - a common cause of infertility in child-bearing women," said Dr. Jain. "Some of my most gratifying work comes from taking high risk diabetics and helping them in a short period of time."
Practicing for eleven years and specializing in diabetes, thyroid and pituitary tumors, osteoporosis and adrenal gland disorders, Dr. Jain enjoys taking time with patients, especially those with chronic diseases. "Seeing diabetec patients improve through simple changes like dietary modification and increasing their physical activity is very rewarding to me," continued Jain.
